Try this get to know you activity
Hello My Name Is…
you need paper and a pen/pencil
Answer these questions on your piece of paper
1. Your Name
2. A food you like
3. A color you like
4. A song or artist you listen to or an activity you do
5. Add an adjective that starts with the same letter as your name
Now, take turns going around the room introducing yourself according to the question for that round.
Each introduction should start with the words “Hello, my name is . . .” After each introduction, the class responds with “Hi ________!” repeating what the student said.
Here’s a Round 1 example:
Student 1: Hello, my name is Mary. Student 2: Hello, My name is Johnathan.
Class: Hi, Mary. Class: Hi Johnathan
For Round 2 each person will add the food they like before their name. It might sound like this:
Student 1: Hello, my name is sushi Mary.
Class: Hi, sushi Mary.
For Round 3 each person will add a color they like to their name like this:
Student 1: Hello, my name is green sushi Mary.
Class: Hi, green sushi Mary.
For Round 4 it’s time to add a hobby or activity to the mix.
Student 1: Hello, my name is singing green sushi Mary.
Class: Hi, singing green sushi Mary..
For Round 5 each person will add an adjective that starts with the same letter as their name.
Student 1: Hello, my name is marvelous singing green sushi Mary.
Class: Hi, marvelous singing green sushi Mary.

look around the class,
how are others similar to you?
How are they different?
each of us has our own melody,
we don't want to all be the same.
but we do want to be in harmony with others.
What do we have in common?
activity
with one other person in the room, find something that you have in common. share that commonality with the class.
stay with your one person and find a group of two. now find something that all 4 of you have in common. share that commonality with the class.
with your 4 find another 4, find shomething that your all have in common. share that with the class.
stay with your group of 8 and find something that you don't have in common with any of them. share your uniqueness with the class.
Pictionary
need paper and pen/pencil
1. create the clues - everyone writes an activity that can be done outside on a small piece of paper.
for example: swimming in the lake
keep your activity a secret. crumple up your paper
2. hand your crumpled paper to your teacher or web leader.
3. the teacher or web leader will begin the game. they will choose one of the crumpled pieces of paper.
4. draw images so the class can guess the activity. no words, numbers and you can't do any actions, unless you want to play charades pictionary( he, he)
5. the entire class will try to guess the activity.
6. when the activity has been guessed someone else can volunteer to choose a crumpled paper and draw.
laugh a little or a lot. Have some fun with it!
